Army Specialist Dennis C. Poulin of Cumberland, RI was assigned to 1st Battalion, 181st Infantry Regiment, Massachusetts National Guard in Milford, MA.  He became a RI fallen hero on March 31, 2011 after succumbing to injuries sustained from a non-combat incident on March 28, 2011 in Konar province, Afghanistan.
 
Remembering Dennis:
Specialist Dennis C. Poulin was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 181st Infantry Regiment, Massachusetts Army National Guard, in Milford, MA.  Dennis lived in Pawtucket most of his life, graduating from Tolman High School in 2004.  He joined the National Guard in 2008 and deployed to Afghanistan in July of 2010.  His sister recalls that her brother loved his family, especially his son.  Others recall him as a loving father and a dedicated soldier.
Dennis was a gunner in a Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected (MRAP) vehicle when it rolled over
Army Spc. Dennis Poulin, 26, died March 31 when his armored vehicle overturned.  In addition to his sister and son, Poulin is also survived by his parents and another sister.
His personal decorations include, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Overseas Ribbon, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, the Afghan Campaign Medal with Bronze Star, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” device, the Massachusetts Defense Service Ribbon, the Massachusetts Defense Expeditionary Ribbon, the Army Commendation Medal, the NATO Medal with International Security Assistance Force Clasp.
